The love of music lends itself to the inspiration of Teri’s leather creations.
Lucinda Williams is one of the best female songwriters. Her music is her storytelling. It’s raw and hard-living and it seems to be her truth like she lived each song and situation. Her message is this: life is not perfect so you gotta try to make the best of what you got.
Teri saw her perform on her tour Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, at The Belly Up in Solana Beach and was right up in the front row.
Lucinda has lived many lives in her lifetime. She’s come from and has seen a lot of rough places since an early age and speaks directly from the heart.
Teri’s higher power is her artistic director and she uses what she has found and upcycled to design and construct this bag completely by hand, including over 85 metal studs that were added to holes that were hand-punched and hammered in.
Because this large bag is made from high quality, beautiful scrap leather, it encapsulates so many of Lucinda’s songs where the people are coming from a place of struggle, challenge and scarcity, and make the best of it. Her creativity comes from her experience in life as a young, struggling musician. She kept going and kept believing.
This bag has a raw, rough edge and a western flare, which matches the poster that Teri bought that night at the show.
